IAT, the Andalusian Institute of Technology  is a Technological Centre of Engineering and Knowledge Management that has been officially recognised by both the Spanish General State Administration and the regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía).

IAT was created in 1989 as a private foundation promoted by the professional Colleges and Associations of Industrial Engineers in Andalusia. IAT has been formally recognised as being of public interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia.

IAT’s Council is in charge of its representation, government and administration. It consists of representatives of Companies, Professionals, University, Administration and significant people within the scientific/technological community. To assure the effective involvement of the business community (companies) in the decisions that need to be taken, most members correspond to companies and entrepreneurial associations.

In addition, IAT consists of an Advisory Committee that acts as a consultative body regarding different matters as far as it is concerned, as well as of a Management Committee which is made up of members of the Council aiming at monitoring the fulfillment of the directives issued by the latter at the meetings.

IAT generates its own technology and knowledge through R&D activities, and offers high-added-value Knowledge-Intensive Services; all this orientated and integrated according its Strategic Plans.

After more than 20 years, IAT is currently a specialised organization that has adapted its facilities to new demands. IAT is seen as a reference as Technological Center in Engineering and Knowledge Management, which satisfies the needs and expectations of its groups of interest (employers, customers, people within the organization, collaborators as well as the social environment).
