Accessibility


The pages of the site web www.iat.es have been designed following the recommendations of the document "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0" (Directive of Accessibility of Web Contents 1.0), of the WAI committee which belongs to the W3C consortium. The purpose of this document is to help building Web pages that are accessible to handicap persons, which, at the same time benefits all users since facilitate Web browsing under different applications and conditions.

  • Accessibility Level. This site has been validated with TAW y BOBBY tools, and the Accessibility Level acquired is double-A (AA), although some triple-A (AAA) standards are also met.
  • Multimedia. All non-textual elements of meaningful content are accompanied by a descriptive text.
  • Font Size. The size of the fonts used on the Web site is specified in relative dimensions to allow the user their modification from the Web browser.
  • Design. Contents data has been separated from the graphical representation details using style sheets with CSS2 specifications. All pages are organized so that they can be read even if the style sheets download is disabled or the browser does not supports it.
  • Web Browsing. A consistent browsing style in intended throughout all the pages of the Web site maintaining the same basic structure. A Web site map has been included which describes the structure and contains links to the pages. There is a link to the map in every page of the site and a browse toolbar.
  • Keyboard short cuts. All pages have keyboard short cuts that allows users rapid access to most common pages.

The activation of keyboard short cuts is based on the browser. The most common are:

  • Internet Explorer (Windows): ALT + letter + ENTER
  • Internet Explorer (Macintosh): Control + letter + ENTER
  • Netscape, Mozilla y Mozilla Firefox (Windows): SHIFT + ALT + letter
  • Netscape, Mozilla y Mozilla Firefox(Macintosh): Control + letter
  • Mozilla y Mozilla Firefox(Linux): ALT + letter
  • Opera 7.0 (Windows,Macintosh,Linux): SHIFT + ESC + letter
  • Safari 1.2 (Macintosh): Control + ESC + letter
  • Konqueror 3.3 (Macintosh): Control + letter

Note: Netscape 4, Camino, Galeon, Konqueror, Omniweb, Safari (versions older than 1.2), Opera Windows/Linux (versions older than 7.0) do not support keyboard short cuts.
